Established in 1994, Microbitz have been providing IT and Support services in Wells and the surrounding area for over 25 years now.
Our ethos is simple and straightforward – provide the best products, with an uncompromising level of customer support.
This isn’t an e-commerce site – our focus is on customer relationships and we want to keep it that way!
Our retail store stocks many of the leading brands of PCs, Laptops and peripherals and we offer on site IT Support, backed up by our walk-in IT Service Centre for ad-hoc repairs.
Our Service Centre located at 2 Broad Street offers a walk-in repair service for a wide range of devices, now including Apple Mac, iPads and iPhones, Android tablets and phones.
Our team of IT specialists offer a comprehensive fault finding and repair service for PCs and peripherals, as well as upgrades, IT advice and remote support. Convenient adjacent parking ensures easy access, and our Express Turnaround service is available for urgent jobs (Additional charge applies). We can replace broken digitisers on phones and tablets and deal with a wide range of problems on portable devices, desktops and servers.
The Service Centre is open: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00
The Service Centre is normally closed on Saturdays. However, if you have goods to collect or repairs to be booked in, we can still deal with this for you. It’s best to give us a call before you visit so that we can discuss the available options with you – we operate a queuing system, so we can give you an idea of how long your repair might take.
Can’t manage to get to us? Our collection and delivery service helps to ensure that your problem will be dealt with promptly.
Please note that it’s important to have any data such as photos and documents backed up safely before we undertake repairs – we cannot be responsible for the safety and integrity of your data. However it’s very rare that data is lost during the course of a repair – if you don’t have a recent backup, just let us know and we can discuss the options with you. We know how important your data is to you – Better Safe Than Sorry!
The service centre is where we also undertake the preparation of new systems before handover or delivery. This entails installing all the Microsoft OS updates, installing and updating anti-virus software, removing unnecessary software that can cause system slowdown and setting up email accounts. All in all a lengthy process but it’s something we carry out on all the laptops and desktops we sell, so that you don’t have to – Beat that for Service!
We also offer a data migration service if you have large amounts of information to transfer between systems – photos, music, documents and mail folders will all be safely transferred to the correct locations.
Microbitz technicians are skilled at the process of Malware and Virus removal and employ powerful tools to remove threats from your system.
It’s important to protect your system with good anti-virus and anti-malware software – we currently recommend either Bullguard Internet Security or ESET for home users – ESET for SOHO and business users, but it can be useful to augment these with other packages – please ask here for advice.
